LIVESTOCK and FAMILY FUN EVENTS

COMMUNITY

  • Create fun activities for the whole family
  • Provide the community the opportunity to participate in competitive events, like best Apple Pie, paintings, quilt contest, the list goes on!
  • Educate the public on the importance of Agriculture
  • Outside of the Fair Season, support to the Community in times of need
  • Help build better future members of society by providing youth an opportunity to grow by getting involved in raising livestock or competing in other fair events
  • Help sustain the decreasing Agriculture community within Harris County due to increase urbanization

YOUTH LIVESTOCK & RODEO EVENTS VISION

  • Supports youth from areas of Harris County to get involved in the fair from the intercity to the outskirts of our county
  • Provide competitive events for those who can not raise animals
  • Provide Youth Rodeo events through the year
  • Provide a livestock show that supports youth with one animal budgets and provides an opportunity to show again after HCF&R
  • Held early in the school year to support crowded school barn limitations
  • Provide Scholarships focused on honoring and supporting the hard working youth who may not necessarily have the scholar performance
  • Provide support to families who want to get involved with Agriculture or raising livestock for show

OUR MISSION - To support Youth in Agriculture

The Association Mission Statement (By-laws)

The organization shall encourage and promote agriculture by conducting an annual public fair, livestock exhibitions, horticulture and home economics in order to support the youth of Harris County, Texas through education and scholarship. Ancillary to realizing the fulfillment of the corporate purpose, recreational features will be incorporated into said fair and exhibition activities such as rodeos, carnivals and other activities that may be necessary to enable the organization to carry out its main purpose of supporting the youth of Harris County, Texas on agriculture through education and scholarship. The organization is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, IRC 501 (c)(3) (1992), and shall not carry on any activities not permitted.
